March 2018 Boden's first Pride festival took place. Bursting with the frustration that the Pride flag waving across our train station was pulled down and burned, Lotta Styvén urged the residents to rainbow bomb our municipality to show that Boden is a place for everyone, a place filled with love.
At the same time, Rickard Söderberg heard from Boden that he would bring a new rainbow flag to the city. When Bodens Riksteaterförening booked his performance "Rickard Söderberg is Gaytenor" it seemed natural that the surrender would take place in connection with it. But it became so much more than a performance and the handing over of a flag, it became a four-day pride festival. This was made possible by the municipality, church, organizations and associations in the city!
Since 2019, Boden Event is proudly the main organizer of Pride Boden.
