Övertorneå Pride, Sweden, 20th-21st of July 2024

First organized in 2019, Övertorneå Pride is a local Pride festival in Tornedalen. The initiative is part of the growing Pride movement in Sweden, where even smaller towns create their own meeting places for visibility and community.

The festival brings together residents, associations and local actors around issues of LGBTQ+ and the equal value of all. The program can include activities such as talks, cultural events and a pride parade or demonstration.

The aim is to strengthen openness and safety, and to show that everyone has the right to be themselves, regardless of where they live.
