The flag with light blue, pink, and white was created in 1999 by Monica Helms. The colors traditionally represent boys (blue), girls (pink), and a white stripe in the center for those whose gender identity or expression doesn’t follow binary norms. The flag is designed to always appear 'correct'—a message of self-acceptance and strength.
