West Pride, Gothenburg, Sweden 8th - 14th of June 2026

West Pride is Gothenburg's pride festival and raises issues of visibility, community and everyone's equal value. Every year, the festival brings people together in the city and creates a broad meeting place for culture, knowledge and celebration.

What can be confirmed is that the festival started in 2007. It was founded by several cultural institutions in Gothenburg and initially went under the name LGBT-GBG. Over the years, the festival has changed its name several times before being established as West Pride. The week-long program includes lectures, performances and a large pride parade, with the aim of raising the visibility of LGBTI people and counteracting prejudice.
